ACTIVITIES
When you stay at Zulu Falls use of the entire farm is exclusively yours for the duration of your stay and there many ways to enjoy this incredible spot. We’ve enjoyed walks with everyone from 5 to 80 year olds so you can easily tailor your activities for various fitness and mobility levels.
The farm has stable populations of giraffe, zebra, impala, wildebeest, blesbuck and kudu. It’s also host to a vast array of bird and insect life so if you’re a keen birdwatcher or lepidopterist you’re bound to find things to enjoy. (Birdwatchers, feel free to mark your finds in the communal bird book in the dining room!)
As all activities are self-led and out in real nature please stay mindful and aware – don’t do silly things like get too near a mom and calf, and keep an eye out for snakes and scorpions.
We recommend the following:
Game drives
Game walks
Hike down the gorge to the river (depending on the time of year and how full the falls are, you may be able to hike right up to the pool at the base of the falls)
Walk to the Zulu Falls Viewpoint
Walk the 2km circular route to the Elanjane Falls Viewpoint
Walk the longer route to the Gorge Viewpoint above the Hidden Valley
Trail run through the farm
If the water level isn’t too high, you can head down into the gorge and fish for yellowtail in the river
